Hello everyone, sorry its been a while since my last post. One important thing i would like to focus on this week is the increasing problem of obesity in our country. So lets do this together and start the road to a healthier life. Besides proper exercise and cardiovascular activity we should consider what we eat. Exercise and cardiovascular activity can have little or no results if we do not establish a proper diet. One thing we can do is change our eating habits and life style of eating. Lets all try and eat smart and by eating smart I mean choose food low in calories and saturated fat. We also need to watch our sodium intake. The recommended amount of sodium is between 1500 mg and 2300 mg per day. Sticking to this can be far more difficult than it seems, as most of our food already has sodium added to it. If you eat too much sodium, your health is going to suffer as a consequence. These range from the fairly minor problems, such as water retention (bloating), to some far more serious health problems. One of the health problems that might occur if you continue to consume too much sodium is high blood pressure. Remember its not all about fat or carbs, but calories, calories, and calories. Until next time, lets start reading food labels and checkin what's actually in our food.
